The Chairman and Members of the Gibson McCook Relays Organizing Committee regret to advise loyal track and field fans that because of the unprecedented rise in cases of the COVID19 virus nationally, and Kingston in particular, we have reluctantly taken the decision to once again remove this prestigious 45-year-old track and field staple from the JAAA Calendar of Events until further notice.
Following several meetings of our Committee, a decision was taken that in the interest of our athletes, their coaches and all personnel essential to successful staging of these Relays, we should hold off on selecting a date until we can further assess the pros and cons of hosting this event in 2021.
The Gibson McCook Relays Organizing Committee will make a further announcement on this matter, on or before April 05, 2021.
We regret this decision but feel certain that track and field in general and GMR fans in general, will understand and support this difficult decision
